I Hope You Dance

I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder, You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger, May you never take one single breath for granted, GOD forbid love ever leave you empty-handed, I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens, Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance….

A good friend sent me just those 5 words in the subject line of her email. I Hope You Can Dance. She knows I dance so I was baffled. Of course I can dance. I thought she meant that she hoped I went out dancing, but that made no sense since its been so long ago that we talked about dancing. I was perplexed to be certain.

Then I had a deja vu moment. GOOGLE! Ah yes of  course,! My daughter’s words came back to me. The above excerpt from the song  is what If found.  Now it the 5 words made so much sense.

Then I wiki searched the song title.and found that the song was written by Mark D. Sanders and Tia Sillers, and recorded by country singer Lee Ann Womack along with Sons of the Desert  So another admission; I had heard of Lee Ann  Womack but I apparently missed her release of this tune. I’m glad I did – it means more discovering it today.

Sometimes there are things in life that come only after many lessons and much courage. And patience.  The need to move forward is like breathing in fresh clean air, you know you need it but finding it soon enough can be a challenge.

So yes, I say to myself ” I Hope I Dance.”

My friends reference in the songs lyrics that “I Hope You Will Give Faith A Fighting Chance” were the other 9 other words I needed to be reminded of. Never losing sight in faith, and  trusting that there is Something More Powerful than I.  I am reminded that I must always look at that glass half full. Not something I normally have a problem with until I railroad my life. Fast track. Wrong every time.

My friends email, and a Note from the Universe in the same morning tells me to slow down, and dance. I’m not changing the steps at all, being led in the same direction as my dreams to be certain, just slowing the progression down.

Sage advice I have heard somewhere else too. If ever there were  affirmations in my life, and there have always been, this is the time to pay attention and honor them.

” Grasshopper,”

You may not always know what your invisible, limiting beliefs are. But you do always know the kinds of empowering beliefs you’d like to possess. And so, Barefoot Baroness, one decision at a time, one day at a time, you can choose to behave accordingly. And thereby effectively kick some wicked, limiting-belief-butt.”

Wa-so, The Universe

 Sooooo…. to paraphrase the words of my friend and the Universe;

I am dancing my way to kick some self-limiting butt!”

    • Hello Kat! I m very well! And you?

THis song just moved me to tears. that a friend sent it to when I most needed it didn’t help in the tear dept.

I am so glad you stopped by. I hope to see more if you .

    • You certainly did rock my spirit PJ, Thank yiou. I love this.
“There is a light for the journey.. ” Too Beautiful.
There is something so precious about sharing a song with a friend. Thank you MY friend, you are a blessing in my life ~

    • Thank you optie. It is that self-limiting beliefs of myself that caused me to spin my wheelsm and creared a world of denial on my part.

But it’s out of the bag now.

I am ready to do some serious kicking butt… how about you?

  2. One should never put limits on love and life. Instead, take a “leap of faith” and see where it leads. Let the dance begin…
Blessings to you, BB ~ Maxi

    • Oh my dear Maxi,
Do you know what your message means to me? Thank you my sister.
There is something about you expressiing this to me that I find I needed. Didn’t know that until now.
I am jumping with both feet into the water, and celebrating this newly found freedom of expressing what I feel. What an awesome thing!

Thank you my friend for the advice, I am gratefully accepting it
      much, much love ~ BB

  3. My Lady I have faith, but I would not do so in dancing, But I would be willing to learn or better I could play the music..,,Lovely post my lady with a lot of strong and meaningful feelings from one’s heart.. Thank you for share .;) Always learning..

    • You just keep playing the beautiful music, and dancing with your guitar,.. your sliding and picking is the music for which we dance. You so could play the music…

Thank you Gerry for this. ~ Your Baroness

  4. I can never listen to this song without weeping–it grabs my heart. Gladys Knight is a longtime fave of mine, for sure. And I wonder if you’ve seen the movie, “The Family that Prays”–Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, etc–anyway, that song is featured at the end, and it’s a 3-hankie!

    • I just was introduced to this song today. I see why it was so popular – the message contained in the lyrics are perfect on so many levels.
I actually was thinking tonight how wonderful a wall plague would be with just the words I HOPE YOU DANCE.
so i adore your framed sentiment.

Thanks for coming by ~ BB

  5. Self limiting. That’s the word! I’ll sure join you dance my way out. How amazing to know that the same thoughts run through many minds, they just take the uniqueness of the one who thinks them. I hope you dance? Where will I go? However these thoughts come and whatever form they take, it’s time for something new. I’m excited about this resonance. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    • i’m so glad yu like the word. It was the Universe’s word, but about me it exp;ained very well what I was doing.

We are obviously on the same page in general and that is pretty awesome to this Baroness who is often frightened of changes. it is comforting to me to know that i am not alone in new starts.
Thank you again for sharing with me Tee ~ This was just prefect!

      It;s c
