Humble Me ~ Reader Appreciation Award

My weekend is starting off with a big bang!  A Huge Thank You Shout goes out to my sister blogger, Judith at Diabetic RedemptionJudith has very kindly blown me away by awarding me The Reader Appreciation Award.

Is this not just a gorgeous award badge?

I think so~

Judith manages to lift me up when I am down, to bring sunshine to me when there are clouds over head instead. If you have not had the pleasure of meeting Judith on her blog I encourage you to take a few minutes and go introduce yourself.

You can find her here at: http://diabeticredemption.com/2012/05/18/awards-and-thanks/

I was unable to find much information about this Reader’s Appreciation Award however I did find this brief quote by another blogger who was also gifted this recognition of award. This lovely award was created by Jennifer Avventura. Her reason for creating this award is a novel one indeed, and as she is quoted saying:  “I’m giving an award to those that have made this past year of blogging worthwhile. You have kept me on my toes, left comments, advice and tons of encouragement. For this I am grateful. Thank you.”

I feel like this is a most sincere sentiment behind an award, and for which I happily accept the much cherished thoughtfulness on Judith’s behalf. Thank you Judith, you rock my soul!

Now To The Requirements of the Award

1. Award your top 6 bloggers who have commented the most.
2. Be thankful.
3. You cannot award someone who has already been awarded. And you cannot give the award back to me.
4. Don’t forget to tell the bloggers you’ve awarded.
5. If you don’t want to pass on this award, that’s okay too. Just admire it.

  • I am doing my thing backwards, to my own liking if you will. If a Barefoot Baroness cannot change-up the rules now and again what is the point of being a Royal Baroness? And being Barefoot?  I want to take this spot, this time, to properly thank my benefactor. Miss Judith. I have been humbled by you more than I can express, your constant unconditional support towards my writing (just among the many others) has been a constant source of love that I draw from daily. Thank you my friend from the deepest recesses of my heart and soul.

  • I am an extremely grateful person in all ways of my life. There is no other way for me to be, I could not relate to life or the people in my life if not for my gratitude’s towards them. The big things, the small, I am grateful because each blessing in life brings my way new lessons and wisdom’s that help guide me through a world that can get pretty complicated along the way. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and loving Thanks to all my family, “framily,” friends, and all of my “biblings” here in my blogging home at WordPress.

  • Six (6) Blogging friends? Really? Just 6?

Okay, here is where it gets tough. Because there is not one person that I follow who does not deserve this award too. Now I don’t have a huge groupings of bloggers I follow anymore. In the beginning when I was so young and naive I clicked on everyone’s follow button like it was some popularity class in Jr High school. Since I became completely overwhelmed when losing just one week of being able to write & comment I realized that being able to nurture the friendships that are significant for me, and to write what I need to get off my chest could not happen if my head was constantly under water trying just to keep afloat. Priorities change.

In that spirit I am going to award this award to my six bloggers. I have decided to do this somewhat different from maybe expected, I am naming bloggers who I don’t know well only because we have just met, or bloggers who I am not aware of them receiving this award already as that is one of the rules. One which I will not take the authority to change. I also have blogging friends who I do know well, who have not received this award, ones who certainly should be awarded. But because I happen to respect their wishes to not accept awards I will not send this their way.  You know who you are;  and I hope you know too just how grateful I happen to be for you, and all that you share with me and this world.

And the Drum Roll please….

And for Number Six ( 6 ) I have decided to change my mind. I am woman; I am strong and that is my prerogative.

I have decided that Gerry from Gerry’s Place @  http://cobbies69.wordpress.com/  is  a blog writer who I also appreciate so much.

Can I just mention that one of Gerry’s aspects that I truly adore is his passion and devotion for missing children. As many of you know I am a child advocate and the thought that this kind of thing could happen in my community leaves me numb with fright. Gerry and I have began posting posters and detailed information about missing and abducted children, We have a shared passion that involves passing these missing children’s sweet smiles around WordPress so that we may find even just one child to bring home to their waiting families.

Can you help? Oh yes you can!  I’m so glad and grateful that you asked. We would so appreciate your help in this. Re blogging when you see a blog about a missing child is a way that you can help and help yourself from un-numbing your feelings involved regarding this issue. If you know of a missing child or person and have not seen us post it here on my blog or Gerry’s please feel more than welcome to contact one of us, or even better yet post it yourself. Then if you would kindly notify one of us so that we too may re-blog …..

Again Thank you Judith, and thank all of you for your devotion and faith in me and my blog! involved.

Sowing Seeds of Truth Seekers

This morning in my mailbox I find:

“Take it from the farmer in me, Barefoot Baroness…
The more seeds you sow, the more plants we’ll grow.
I love wearing overalls”

~ The Universe

I have stopped being amazed at the incredible serendipitous things in life. I also have some time ago come into the wisdom that there is a reason for everything, and that there are no coincidences. Agreed this is just my belief system, and I have no need to try to convince anyone else of it.  I am not, as one close friend puts it; “Dummy-ing Up” for no one when it comes to my faith and belief system.

In the message received from The Universe this morning the meaning for me could not have been any clearer. I get it. And the timing is the most perfect aspects of it all, How affirming this message from The Universe.

Sowing seeds. It’s what I try to do each day in some way. Touching in some aspect the world around us, and living in it. The life skills it takes to be successful at living in our world do not come without great education. In the form of seeds we plant education filled lessons regarding skills needed to be a thriving member of this Universe.

Seeds that are sown one by one, each planting one garden of knowledge after another. Growing  a new skill set, one, after another.  That’s pretty amazing don’t you think?

We share and teach one another what works for us; and how it works for us. Are we not always asking one another questions which we are hoping will divulge the answers to some of life’s most serious questions?  And then there are also the silly, may seem unimportant to everyone but you, and the other person questions.  Questions like; “what kind of shampoo are you using that makes your hair so shiny and soft?  And smells so good!”

No one listening will hardly care.

We have seeds of other kinds that get planted. Seeds planted into fertile soil  that almost go unnoticed, maybe even spread by the wind. Seeds of random kindness, seeds of caring for the neighbor who was always so kind to your children while they were growing up.

And with grace the seed that the neighbor                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   planted with the kindness shown to your children will be paid forward once again by their very own act’s of caring towards others, even the same neighbor many years later. Acts of kindness paid forward in the name of love.

Another seed planted.

Those little seeds spend quiet periods of time which to us may seem dormant – loving the dew drops as nurturing life-sustaining moisture that will germinate those tiny seeds of seeming nothingness into gorgeous stand up tall and proud seedlings.

Seedlings growing tall and fine.

Seedlings of human nature filled with random acts of kindness, care and concerns. Kindness and Concerns for no other reason than we are human and we tend to be loving civilization. And the Truth is we need to be kind and to be concerned and caring for others. It is our Nature, It is our Truth

These tender seedlings have the makings of becoming The Seeker’s of Truth through their ground breaking of peeking up from the earth. We are the wiser for paying tribute to The Seekers. It is in the Paying It Forward that the Truth brings with it The Love that will keep us carrying forward through the Universe.

Seedlings of The Truth Seekers

And so…The Universe tells us this…  “We the people shall be called The Philatelist   “The Lover Of Truth “

…and then just for some humor and a post script”

“Bet you’re glad I wasn’t wearing my dentist’s hat today, huh, Barefoot Baroness?”
