As most of my readers know I am a CASA. This is where my true passion has always laid with children.
This stiry, this beautiful smiling precious angel’s stort needs told. It needs to posted here, on your blog, even print it out and post it at work.
The pwer pf the press is amazing yes? Just think what the power of WordPress can do?

26th April 2012      Check their website.

I presume we all know the story of Madeleine, (if not please check their parents web site) the police in UK have just updated a picture as shown, and her parents are pushing high profile publicity again. And because of our blog sites, Facebook, Twitter and other social sites. We can all help by publicising, posting or re-posting what ever, and if Madeleine is out there someone might see, and report. And we can only try to repatriate parents and daughter. Hope my little bit will lead to bigger and fruitful results.  Thank you.

This is a new age-progression image of Madeleine, commissioned by the Metropolitan Police.

Madeleine was born in May 2003 – a long-awaited and very much longed for little girl. She lives in the village of Rothley in Leicester, with her mummy and daddy…

And you are who?

What does a blogger look like anyway?

 I’m curious to know.

Who are you? What do you look like?

If you were asked to describe yourself how,  how would you?

I’d really like to know.

For my 200th post I thought there would be something spectacular I would find to write about. Maybe solve all the world’s problems in one prose. Maybe find the one thing that would both celebrate and inspire. That one thing has yet to make itself known to me.

But I have been thinking a lot about blogging and bloggers. Watching this impending 200th post pending. It’s seems like such a small number in the space of time that I have been openly writing on my blog. 200 really feels like 800 in terms of how much of myself went into each sentence, every paragraph.

Blogging has been a bit of a surprise for me. Aside from writing, which is why we all started our blogs, to journal our life and our passions. I have delightfully been surprised to learn that there is such thing as extended blogging families. I know, I know. Please don’t roll your eyes just yet.We all have one. If you have opened yourself to the love of this writing family here at WordPress than you have also opened your heart to a WP family. I love my WP family and you know who you are.

A member of this family of mine said something recently that I had not thought about before. We’re a family in so many ways, yet we hardly know one another. Such as my friend Julie mentioned to me in a past comment which is what brought these thoughts and feelings about creating this 200th post of mine.

What Julie said was; ” feel like I know you even though I can only see your fingers and toes!

This got me to thinking seriously about her statement while I was responding to her comment with a bit of a self description. Which as we all know is a bit awkward to do. And this is where it brought me.

We are learning so much about one another, about our opinions, about beliefs in world affairs, health, life style choices, our faith or lack there of, and even where our tastes lie in art. These are very important aspects to all relationships, the bases for which we build our friendships on. These are the topics that we find common ground on which affords the ice breakers for conversations. This is how we begin to know one another.

All these ways we start to know each other; and looks, physical appearances, never come into play. I love this!

Appearances, looks, beauty, not so pretty, homely, handsome, striking, cute, craggy, wrinkly, fat, thin, all these adjectives are ways we might see one another if we were to meet in person. Blue, brown, or green eyes, short hair, long, blond, brown, or even silver and gray? Does this tell you a thing about who I am? Really who I am?

I was thinking about my blogging family. Those who I have developed a close knit feeling of friendships with so far. Would you know me on the streets, in the library if we met without words first? Would you know me? Would I be able to recognize my sister who has discovered a new passion for life by being really honest with herself and those she loves finally? Would I know my sister who is losing her best friend to an ugly illness that is robbing her and her husband of the life they have lovingly built? Would I be able to see past the pain on another whole (sad to say) group of my sister’s faces and get beyond the daily torture they live and find them personally? Could I pick out of a crowd the guys who here through their words and images of their arts here are endearing real people who are not afraid to express their honest emotions? Would I know them?

And You Are Who?

With out the cover of your words and the persona of your blog would I know you in heaven? How about on the streets?

Could you tell someone over lunch anything more about your blogging family than what some of their emotional make – up is? Could you describe them so that your listener would see them as you do? Without looks?

I’ve actually not thought a lot about the personal appearance of any of you until now. And with a promise that “looks” mean nothing to me. I am not so shallow that I first see beauty in a physical sense.  It’s much deeper than appearance for me.I don’t know that I could even tell you honestly what my best of friend’s eye colors are. These are just things that matter none to me. I’m looking more for the real, the honesty, the integrity.

In reading someone’s blog over and over these values come through. Soon I’m able to see if this is someone who I would befriend in my blog community. No appearance, no thoughts to ones looks ever comes into play. Are they cute, good-looking, sweet-faced, happy looking?None of this matters. And blogging proves just how shallow appearances tend to be. How really of little value a so-called pretty face or ugly face is.  It’s really kind of cool.

We can imagine, and even sometimes have a photo to go by. But rarely does this photo oe few images give us a real idea of what our looks are. What our style is. More so this information comes from our writing, stories about what our garden is like, what our passions are. These kinds of ways of getting to know you are s much more valuable than a one time glance meeting would be. There is a lot to be said about eye to eye contact, but that still I have been taught through life is not 100% fool proof. Seeing your eyes look into mine does not always tell me who you are. Reading the posts that your eyes helped guide your finger tips to put into words that can never be taken away again seems to hold quite a bit of credibility for me.

I know there can be many untruths in blogs just as there are in real-time. But my feeling about this in my close-knit blogging family is this: to what purpose and what end is there to lie and be false in a blog that no one asked of you in the first place? What purpose really would a blogger have?  I know attention. But those who write just for attention and to draw people to them just for the sake of attention show themselves rapidly. Other wise what would the intent be? I’m sure there are some who blog for more selfish intentions too. I’m not that naive. But it seems that my experience has been completely different from finding bloggers who want to use their readers. I find that most bloggers tend to be brutally honest with themselves and with their readership. If we are not going to really ever know one another out side WP, never probably meet most of us, is  there really a practical purpose in feeding each other a bunch of BS? (pardon my terminology)

I’m kind of liking this aspect of meeting one another where physical appearance  plays no role. It’s very cool that all that is coming into play between us is what lies between our ears. It’s from our intellect, not our looks.

The appearances that we are making our choices from for creating those we choose to build a community with – are from all our own words. Our thoughts, our feelings about those thoughts, and then who we are emotionally. Based on those feelings. This is how I am getting to know my blogging community, my blogging family.  I think that having looks thrown out of the picture is just so very awesome.

But my friend’s statement that she only knows my physical looks by my fingers and toes struck a chord as I said in the beginning. Because that is my profile photo. of my toes and fingers this is how I am seen physically. So in jest I made a comment back to her about my physical presence.  A description of myself if you will. What she could look for if she was looking for me in a crowd of bloggers.

And this is what got me to thinking.

I started to think about each of you. There are a few of you who have either photos of yourself as your profile or photos on your blog of yourself that have been weaved through your stories, These are far and few though. So we are left to our own imaginations, I am left to think on my own about what your personal appearance and style is. And I have no problem with this although I am shocked to find that I don’t really care.

I’m shocked and yet pleased to find that learning to know who you are through your stories whether they be through words, photos or both is my preference. Not having physical appearances come into play in any way – any fashion – is freeing. I am left to make my choices by what I learn about you through your words, Nothing else stands in the way, or clouds the picture.

After saying all this I have to add that reading a description of yourself would be really a fascinating experiment. This is what started this whole thought process on my part. I was told a simple thing about how someone saw me without benefit of photos of my face. In response in one sentence I replied with a very brief description of myself. Now I am wondering how you would describe YOU in one or two sentences .

Should we be meeting in a busy airport, catching a connecting flight together going to some mutually chosen destination. In celebration of my 200th post I’d like you to tell me what and who to look for.

Tell me. Write,.. using the words I have gotten to know you by so far –

Who am I looking for?

I’ve Been Tagged.. This Time I’ll Play~

I’ve been tagged by Claudia from her blog:  Pathfiner: MotherWifeStudentWorker. Thanks so much Claudia for thinking of including me! These are the rules :

Each person must post 11 things about him/herself on their blog.

1. Answer the questions the “tagger” listed for you in their post, (And create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer if you can).

2. Choose 11 people to tag and link to them in the post.

3. Let each blogger know that you have tagged them.

Okay, my  11 difficult to come up with things about myself:

  1. I don’t like to have to come up with a list of 11 or even 1 thing about myself. ~ Is this cheating? Okay, just wanted to know.

  2. I have two daughter’s, and 3 step children, two bio grand babies who are now 12 & 19, and 6 more because of my husband’s 1st marriage, we have an orange Tabby named Truman who has a natural crook in the end of his tail. (I told you I hate coming up with things about me)

  3. I love classic folk &  rock n roll, but listen to most music.

  4. Fell in love with Downton Abbey on PBS this last year and am beside myself waiting for the new season. Anyone know anything?

  5. Most of the artwork in our home is by artists that we know and love. Or their relatives. With the exception of my husband’s sofa size lithio of Starry Night, an anniversary present from yours truly.

  6. My full-time job of the last year has been Physical and Occupational Therapy so that I may continue to thrive.

  7. Along that line; I’m not a fan the warm temps of summer. I have a central nervous malfunction that does not allow me to cool my body off like normal, I’d much rather be cold and have to get warmed up.

  8. Only 8 so far? Cn you tell I am grasping?

  9. One of my most cherished past times is coloring with my grandchildren.

  10. I drive, when I drive a 1997 Saturn. She is the best car, our 3rd. I’m completely bummed they are no longer in business. Hence why we are still driving a 15-year-old car. The Saturn’s saved my life literally in a roll over. I landed on the tires, roof caved in to where there was a V in the windshield, but I walked away.

  11. Oh Thankfully!! LOL… Okay.. make this one a good one….How about… I’ve never worn make-up? Okay… kind of cheesy..I agree. But hey, I warned you.

Now for Claudia’s questions:

1 Without three things you would be lost?

(a)  my family for sure

(b)  my Bible and other spiritual devotional reading

( C ) My friends and extended family My motto goes something like this.
“Faith Family Friend’s.”

2 If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be?

Save every child from their abusers! I hope that would be worth fame~

3 If you only could listen to one song for the next month, what song would that be?

Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up”

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;

You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;

I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;

You raise me up… To more than I can be……..

awww,,, I think this says so much…….

4.  Why started you blogging in the first place?

Because I am a writer in the first place~

5 If you could have your own tv channel, what would it be about?

Chronic Pain and Fatigue with a guest patient each show~because they are the experts.

6 What is your favorite season? And why? 7 Do you like flowers better or trees?

Definitely Autumn. I love flowers but have a special affinity with Leaves and bare branches on trees, and obviously trees.

8 If you could own a famous painting (or any other art object), which one would that be?

I would be a basket woven from pine needles, with a pine cone handle for the lid. Such an incredible art that I’m loath to say we are losing practitioners of.

9 There is only one person like yourself. Name something about you that makes you unique!

My hair that rests below my bum. I’m 57, have been able to donate 3 one- foot braids to Locks of Love.  As long as I can grow it and kids need it I’m there~

10 Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous?

Both. But I am a true believer and lover of all things serendipitous.

11 Would you rather be a movie actor or a (rock)star on the stage?

Rock Star in stage all day and all night long. I have actually sang for a rock band in my heyday. And have produced an album. My little brothers band’s music, all originals.

Thanks Claudia!

Well that was not painful at all. I hope that if your name has been called you will play along. And if your name was not called by me it’s only this time. So little space, so many outstanding bloggers kind of thing, so even if your name is not here please join in and play along with us.

All our welcome in my world!

Would You?

If I told you there have been no mistakes,

that I understand every decision you’ve ever made,

and that the challenges you’ve faced,

you’ve faced for everyone,

 would you listen?

If I told you that what you dream of,

I dream of for you,

that the only things “meant to be” are what you decide upon,

and that all that stands between you and the life of your dreams are the thoughts you choose to think,

would you try to understand?

And if I told you that you are never alone,

that there are angels who sing your name in praise,

and that I couldn’t possibly be any more proud of you than I already am,

would you believe me?

 Would you?

Even if I pulled your leg, made you blush, and winked between the lines?
Then I shall…

The Universe   (from the Foreword of Book 1)

I just love this. I don’t often copy and paste someone’s else who has something to say here on my blog.  This is just so good I could not resist turning you all on to this link. So I want to share this very cool find with you. Actually it is not even my find really. I learned of it through Margekatherine’s blog. Thank you so much Margekatherine. I needed this right now, timing was perfect.

Many of you may already be aware of ” Notes from The Universe” And Mr Mike Dooley’s life changing philosophy. That there may be something so powerful residing in each of us that we may not be aware of it is phenomenal in my mind. That we are not always all that we set out to be may be of no surprise to some, that we have no reasons not to attain it now is a gift that should not be forsaken.

Grab the Universe and your Life by their proverbial horns and run with it.

 This is your time!

Maybe Just For Today!

Thriving despite the best of what tries to pull me down.

Not giving in to this day, finding calm on the seas even though this ship wants to rock me like there will be no more tide.

This being part of what moves me forward, this attitude of mine. This shall be my declaration today.

That I’ll move forward with grace, with aplomb, and with a smile planted on this face.

Maybe just for today…

Share Your World Sunday Week # 20

It’s Sunday, maybe my most favorite day of the week. I mean what’s not to love about loafing around if you are so inclined?  I am. And I am also just cheeky enough to give myself permission to spend the entire day doing as I please. For me part of that has to do with attire. Or lack of it unless you count jammies. If there is something happening that requires dressing I’ll do so for said event, then once home again I’m back in my PJ’s.

Along with all the lovelies that Sunday comes with this weeks Share Your World Sunday Week # 20 is pretty good. I’ve no idea how Cee manages to come up with such inventive questions but I’m grateful she does. I am enamored with the memories they inspire and I like the way each question lets us peek into one another’s personalities.

If you are interested in joining us each week and allowing a glimpse into your world just click on Cee;’s link, copy and paste the questions and when you’ve finished answering make sure you link your pst back onto Cee’s blog which can  be found @

Here are this weeks questions from our founder and facilitator Cee. Another set of intriguing questions.

  • How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I really love this question and so jazzed I get to talk about this.  I would be in my early 30’s. Before 35. The reasons for this have to do with good health. This would be before the Implant Disaster and if I could take hindsight with me into my 30’s I’d research many more options. I also loved my 30;s because my daughter’s were in their teens and what hoot that time was. Dirty Dancing and Flash Dance out on our red wood deck with our girls and all their friends boogying until each board to the deck was dancing with them too. I prayed that the support beams would hold them.  Such memories!

  • What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?

This one is a bit more difficult, only because I have received so many kindnesses in my life. Remember, I have lived for over half a century. The times that most stand out for me are when someone acted out of random kindness not expecting ever to receive anything back for it. A young gentleman who has been part of life since he was just 2 years old and is now in his late 30’s will fit into this answer perfectly for me. His name is Troy and his dad is my husband’s best friend. For several of our first winters back in Oregon from Seattle wet Washington  we were met head on with so much snow we were shell-shocked. Troy, knowing my husband has had 3 failed back surgeries would show up out of no where, we’d find him outside with his own snow shovel clearing out our car and a place to walk safely down the 14 steps of our deck to our driveway. It seems the random acts of kindness in my life revolve around Snow Angels.

Thanks Troy! You are the best son I never had.

  • What was your favorite childhood television program?

It was a cooking show called Cooking with Chef Horst Mager. It could not have been any later than the late 1050’s, in Portland, Oregon. A local chef did a half hour show each week day. Before FoodNetwork was so popular or even thought of actually. I would line up all my cooking utensils, some make-shift, some grand versions of the same adult sized. I then would mockingly follow every step, every technique the Chef would do. It was my very first love affair with culinary television. and the slight forecast for my future of being a chef groupie,

The man on the right of the Chef is our then Mayor Neil Goldschmidt (1072 1979). Under President Jimmy Carter the honorable Neil Goldschmidt was our 6th Secretary of Transportation (1979 -1981) and  He then went on to become our Governor back here in Oregon ~ (1987 – 1991)  Does he look like he is saying, “No thank you Chef?”

  • Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most?

This would be my bench scraper. I use it for everything. From scooping up diced vegetables for a soup to cutting up day old bread for bread crumbs with its sharpened edge. I find it my most useful utensil I own. Next to that would have been my bulb whisk. It’s nice and large and gets the job done lickety split. (I’ve been waiting to use that expression for some time.)

So that’s it for yet another week folks. Tune in next week same time, same channel.

On Being A Cheer Leader of the Best Kind ~

When it rains love and blessings on me I need a raincoat. When I turned my heart back around, and away from feeling sorry for myself I am rewarded. When I wasn’t looking there were people of amazing faith cheering me on.

I’ve been cheered on yet again in another way. I have been awarded The King of King’s Friendship Award.

One of my most ardent Cheer Leaders” is a lady who has herself been through the wringer of life, yet she has chosen to forgive all the times life has broken her heart and added struggles of monumental size that you & I will hope to never have to tackle. And tackle life head on she does, with her ever Faithful spirit knowing she has the most important Cheer Leaders of all helping guide her life and always walking right beside her.

Many of you will know this lovely lady, Kate that I am speaking of. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Kate and visiting her blog BelieveAnyway I encourage you to do so today.

Kate’s charming wisdom and anecdotes in her world can be found here @

 Merci beaucoup Mom ami Kate!

No pressure to accept—just blessings!

I  would like  to offer you My Sister’s in Spirit… The King of Kings  Friendship Award…some call it a Blessing instead of an Award, you can accept it as you feel in your heart to or not.

You all are women who exhibit such devotion to cheering me and offering support and love on that I’m thinking I’d be lost without you now. You’ve unknown to yourselves (You too Kate!) formed a squad that lifts me up on days that are trying, and when life is amazing you are here to celebrate that too. I’m grateful for your acceptance and your devotion to our friendship and to me. Thank you so much!
